About Indi
Indi helps Australian sole traders and ABN holders keep track of income, business expenses and invoices, and export a summary at tax time. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Not tax, legal or financial advice
Indi organises the information you enter and highlights what may be relevant at tax time. It does not tell you what you are entitled to claim, and nothing in the app is tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Deduction categories, business-use percentages and readiness scores are prompts based on your own entries. Always confirm your position with your accountant, a registered tax agent, or the ATO before lodging.
What Indi does not do
- It does not lodge tax returns, BAS or any other return on your behalf.
- It does not calculate GST obligations or handle payroll or superannuation.
- It does not collect or process invoice payments — clients pay you directly into your own bank account. Indi only records whether you marked an invoice as paid.
- It does not connect to bank feeds or reconcile accounts.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for the accuracy of the records you enter. Use Indi only for your own business records, and don't upload anything unlawful or anything you don't have the right to store. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
Your records remain yours
You keep ownership of everything you enter. You can export your records to CSV, share a read-only Tax Pack summary, and delete individual records or your whole account at any time. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of records you need to retain for tax purposes — the ATO generally expects business records to be kept for five years.
Early access
Indi is in early access and free to use. Features may change, be added or be removed while we develop the product, and there may be interruptions or errors. If we introduce paid plans in future, we will tell you before any charge applies.
Availability and liability
Indi is provided on an "as is" basis and we don't guarantee uninterrupted access or that your records will be free of errors. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability to you is limited to resupplying the service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for tax outcomes, penalties or losses arising from records you entered, decisions you made, or reliance on the app instead of professional advice.
Ending your use
You can stop using Indi and delete your account at any time from the profile menu. We may suspend or close an account that is being used unlawfully or in a way that harms the service or other users.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
